The Mogalakwena Research Centre is an independent research entity based in the remote north-western part of Limpopo Province. The Research Centre was established in 2006, as part of the Mogalakwena Group, to document, to research and to further understanding and knowledge in the fields of ecology and anthropology in South Africa. Our research divisions are: conservation and ecology, cultural heritage, design and craft art, and education and outreach.
We strive to make our work useful to the greater scientific community and relevant to local stakeholders. We prioritize the continued integrity of the ecological and social systems, values and resources with which we work. Our primary objective is to facilitate research in our area by providing study opportunities, assisting with logistical and field support and by maintaining a research-friendly environment for students, researchers and volunteers to address important questions, gain experience and network skills.
